The Beach, The Border and More...

Today Mya took her first trip to the beach! The weather up here has been really unpredictable lately so I wasn't sure if she'd be able to go, but the sun was out today so Grandma and Grandpa took her to the beach. I recently updated my computer with some more pc memory so I was even able to see the videos of Mya playing in the sand and jumping in the waves that Grandpa sent me from his Blackberry! She looked like she had so much fun!

Since Mya was gone for the day I was able to go out and meet a friend for lunch at On the Border. The food was excellent as always and my friend and I spent about 3 hours there just talking and catching up.

It is now after 11:00. Mya is in bed (she was exhausted by the time she got home). Overall we both had a great day! Now it is back to work tomorrow....

Moving Soon!

Those of you that read my blog regularly know that I have been looking forward to moving back to Florida. When I was down there last month I did some apartment hunting and found a lot of great deals. In the end I have decided to move back to the same apartment complex that I loved in right before I moved up here. They have a great move-in special and, because of the current economy, I will be paying the same price I was 3 years ago, but will now have a 2 bedroom, instead of only 1 bedroom apt.

I will be leaving in a few months and now have to find a way to get all of my stuff back down to Florida. Last time my ex and I rented a moving truck and hauled everything ourselves, but this time (since it is just Mya and I moving) I am going to be looking into using some cross country movers to do the work for me. I couldn't imagine having to do all that and looking after a 2 year old at the same time!

Orlando Vacation

Mya and I had a wonderful time on our vacation to Orlando. We were there from June 20th through the 30th. The first 5 days we stayed with my friend Kristina and her husband. Mya had a great time playing with their little puppy Max and jumping on their trampoline.

The weather was really hot. For the first few days it was 97 degrees and very humid. We didn't even go swimming because the pool water was so warm it didn't really even feel refreshing. One thing I do like about hot weather like that is that, for me, it is an appetite suppressant. I just feel a lot less hungry for some reason.

We did do a lot of fun things while we were there. One thing I realized is that, if you have kids, there are a lot of inexpensive things to do with them in Orlando. Chuck E Cheese is cheaper than one up here. We also took her and my friends daughter Alexis to Monkey Joes, which is located at fasitival Bay on International Drive. it is a place full of giant inflatable slides and things to bounce and climb on. We were there for 5 hours and it only cost me $4.99!

Of course we did also go to The Magic Kingdom. Mya was in awe. She wouldn't go up to any of the characters to get her picture taken but she still loved seeing them and she LOVED the parades! She wet on as many rides as she could but her favorite was definitely the Tea Cups.

Mya even enjoyed riding on the airplane, although she really missed out on most of it because she feel asleep right after we took off and didn't wake up until we were landing! I took a lot of pictures and I hope to have them posted here soon!

Only 2 More Weeks

My summer will officially start in 2 weeks. That is when I will be done with class for this semester. Right now I am working on my final paper, which will include topics like Mesothelioma and Mesothelioma treatment. I need to have that paper done by this coming Wednesday and then on the last week we have our final exam. I have actually really enjoyed this class and will be taking the advanced section of the class when the fall semester begins in September.

A Good Night's Sleep

My back is really bothering me today. I think it's because I feel asleep in a chair last night for about 5 hours. I have a bad habit of doing that. I usually get into watching a movie or TV show and then fall asleep. But tonight I am going to bed earlier. The bed here at my dad's house is actually really comfortable. It is sleep number bed that you can adjust to your own preferences. I love it! I need to get one of those for myself!

The Doctors

Today is a lazy 4th of July. Mya and I are housesitting for my Dad while they are camping. Mya is taking a nap and I am sitting here watching en episode of "the Doctors". Do any of you watch that show? Right now they are talking about Colonix and taking questions from the audience.

I thought about taking Mya to see the fireworks tonight but when we are at Disney World last week she cried during the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom. So I think we might just stay in and watch a movie.
