Because I am self-employed I have had to find my own health insurance, as opposed to having my insurance provided by a company chosen by an employer. I need an insurance plan that is good for Mya, but also doesn't cost me all of my extra money. that has been especially hard for me to find because I have a pre-existing heart condition. However, I have recently seen a few commercials for insurance marketing to people that have pre-exisiting issues like me. I am going to start calling those companies tomorrow to see if I can find a better plan.

Stemulite
In my quest for weight loss and becoming more physically fit, I have been searching the net for products that could potentially help me reach my goal. One product that I found is called Stemulite.
With Stemulite, you take one pill in the morning and one again at night and within a few days people that have been taking Stemulite have experienced an increase in energy, better quality of sleep and an increase in strength and endurance. I was very impressed by all the testimonials and I especially like that Stemulite fitness formula is all natural.

Fun In The Sun
It looks like we're finally going to have a warm sunny day! The kids are so excited! Right now (at 9 am) it is almost 70 degrees and I think it's supposed to get up to around 80 sometime this afternoon. I promised the girls that, if it is warm enough, I would fill up the pools so that they can go swimming. Of course, every 5 minutes since they got here they have been asking, "Is it warm enough now?"
Only 8 more days til Mya and I leave for Orlando.I am sure we will be able to do a lot of swimming there. I just have to be careful that, with my incredibly fair skin, I don't get sunburned. I have ordered some new skin care products (makeup, sunscreen and stuff like that) that should be arriving soon. I just hope it gets here before we leave!
Disability Insurance
I know that I have mentioned this in my blog before, but when I was pregnant for Mya I had a lot of medical complications. I was born with a congenital heart defect called Transposition of the Great Vessels. I had 2 open heart surgeries before I was 5 yrs old, but since then have been, overall, very healthy. That is, until I got pregnant...
During my pregnancy I ended up with Congestive Heart Failure. Because of this I had to be on bed rest and off of work for 11 months (the last 5 months of my pregnancy plus the first 6 months after she was born). During that time I applied for disability benefits and was, unfortunately, denied. I was told "pregnancy is not considered a disability". They didn't even really listen to what I had to say and I don't think they even took time to read the letter from my cardiologist explaining my situation.
I have recently learned about a great company called Allsup, which specializes in disability insurance. Allsup has has a 98% success rate for those people that complete the SSDI process with them. Since 1984, Allsup has helped more than 110,000 people receive their entitled Social Security Disability Insurance and Medicare benefits.
I just wanted to put that information out there for any of you that might find yourself in a situation similar to mine. I wish I had known about Allsup!
Thankfully Mya was born healthy and my health has also returned to what it was pre-pregnancy and I was eventually able to return to work.

A Summer of Travel
I am really looking forward to doing a lot of traveling this summer. I only have 9 more days until I leave for Orlando. I will staying with friends there until the beginning of July. I have been showing Mya pictures and videos of all the rides at Disney World and she is getting really excited. She tells me everyday that she "can't wait to ride Dumbo and the Tea Cups"! Then, later this summer we will be visiting family down in North Carolina. I have been looking into Outer Banks rentalsand found some beautiful houses available in the area where we will be staying. I can't wait to just lay out on the beach with a good book and soak up some sun!
My Diet Update
I have still been doing well on my diet. Since I have started to eat healthier and exercise more often (I have been trying to walk outside when the weather is nice or at least walk on the treadmill 2-3 times per week) I have already lost 30 lbs! I have also still been looking into various diet pills and just the other day read an interesting liporexall review. There were actually several reviews on the site and after reading all of them, I think I might be giving Liporexall a try. I am also still trying to drink a lot more water and have almost cut pop out of my diet completely, which for me is a major step in the right direction.
Rain Rain Go Away...
Today was a long day. Or at least it felt like it was. It was one of those days where it's cloudy and overcast and rains off and on throughout the whole day. Just dreary and blah. One of those days where you wish you could just stay in bed and sleep. Instead I was up watching the kids who were bored and a little bit crabby. When they finally went down for a nap I had to hop on the internet to look up some information on mesothelioma for a paper that I have to write.
When the kids got up they were in a much better mood and we had a lot of fun baking cookies and a meal to take over to my sister and had family (now that she is home from the hospital). They loved dumping all the ingredients into the bowl for me and of course "testing" the cookies after they were done.

So Much Fun Watching Her Grow Up
A few minutes ago I was just sitting here, watching Mya play with her toys (she was trying to play piano on her new little keyboard), and I was just so amazed by how much she has grown in the past 2 1/2 years. I love watching her develop her own personality and assert her independence, seeing what things interest her and comparing all of the ways that she and I are alike (or different). I look forward to each new day, all of the new discoveries that she will make and seeing the world through her eyes.

I'm An Aunt Again!
I am so excited! Last night my sister Rose went in to labor (4 days early) and this morning, just after 1 am, my nephew JP was born!! Mya and I stayed with their other kids last night when they went to the hospital, but I did finally get to go up there to see him tonight. He is so cute! I took quite a few pictures and I can't wait to upload them, I just need to fond some new memory sticks for my laptop first. Both my sister and the baby are doing great and should be coming home on Wednesday!
