Ewww...That Is SO Gross!

Sophia (my niece) started potty training about a month ago, and has been doing really well with it. She is now at the point where she is only wearing pull-ups when she is sleeping.

So yesterday the kids were playing in the living room when, all of a sudden, Sophia jumped up and announced that she had to go potty. Unfortunately she had already started to go and ended up peeing on the rug. I quickly cleaned her up and changed her and then got a wet washcloth to start cleaning the carpet. As I was on my hands and knees soaking up the little puddle, I see Sophia run back into the bathroom. I guess I must not have shut the door tightly after I changed her. Oops!

Any time she is able to get into the bathroom alone she will try to throw as much toilet paper into the toilet as she can before someone catches her. Sure enough, when I got in there she had already managed to get some in the toilet. I flushed and told her that she was going to have to sit in time out. As I get back out into the living room I see Mya...looking up at me oh-so-innocently...sucking on the washcloth I had left on the floor!

Yuck!!

Fun At The Fair

We took the kids to the fair last week but I just now found some time to upload the photos. Mya had so much fun! Both of my sisters and their familes went as well as my mom and my dad and stepmom. It was $12 to get a wristband for unlimited rides (down that day from $17 which, for a really small local fair I think is a bit crazy..but that's a rant for another post).

When I put Mya on her first ride and walked away I could tell she wasn't too sure about it...

...that is until the ride started. As you can see, she loved it!

She even started to cry when I had to take her off. After that she wanted to go on everything. She would have even gone on the big rides if I had let her. But of course we just stuck to the kiddie rides like the carousel

Apparently, out of all of the adults that went, I am the only one that actually likes to go on rides so I ended up getting a wristband to go on some with the kids when they needed an adult to ride with them.

I went on the Zipper with Allie. Yeah, that's the ride that goes upside down (over and over..) while the whole ride is spinning. I was having fun but by the end of the ride Allie was screaming "I am never going on this again!!".

Right before we were about to leave my nephew Ryan asked me to go on the Tilt-A-Whirl with him. Now, of all the rides and rollercoasters that I have been on in my life the ONLY one I have ever gotten sick on was the Til-A-Whirl...but that was just once and it was waaaay back when I was in high school. So of course I said "Sure, I'll go with you".

Big mistake...

I was fine the whole time we were on the ride but right after I got off I was feeling a bit dizzy. Maybe it was just all in my head, because the Tilt-A-Whirl had made me sick before...or maybe it was the greasy hot dog I had eaten about 10 minutes before I went on the ride? All I know is that I lost it (and btw, may never eat a hot dog again) about 5 minutes after I got home.

35 and Officially Old

Two days ago I turned 35 years old. It's a tradition in our family that we all get together to celebrate each person's birthday so this year we went over to my sisters for cake and ice cream. The kids got to play and swim. They have a trampoline which Mya just loves! Before everyone sang Happy Birthday my 10 year old niece asked me how old I was now and when I said 35 she very sweetly informed me that I am now "officially old". Thanks Allie!
